Railways
That any general system of conveying passengers would ... go at a velocity exceeding ten miles an hour, or thereabouts, is extremely improbable.
Thomas Tredgold, Practical Treatise on Railroads & Carriages, 1825
- Austria. Lovely little tramway in Gmunden.
- Belgium. Trams and trains
- Canada. Ontario in winter, and a trans-continental holiday.
- Czech Republic. Holiday snaps.
- France. TGV, inevitably.
- Germany. Harz steam.
- Iceland. Yes, it did have a railway. I've not seen what's left, but my dad has.
- Iraq. No, I've not been there myself, but some people who have took photos of the trains.
- Republic of Ireland. Bright orange trains.
- Luxembourg. Trains in the Grand Duchy.
- Malaysia. Trainspotting out in the midday sun.
- Poland. Real steam.
- Thailand. Export Class 158s.
- UAE. Photos I've been sent showing railways in the Emirates.
- United Kingdom
- Disused tunnels on the Hull & Barnsley Railway.
- Northern Ireland. An overlooked railway.
- Oakham Level Crossing signal box. Of Airfix fame.
- Spurn Head railway. What's left of it.
- Military line in York. About 18-inch gauge.
For fairly obvious reasons I don't have many pictures of railways in Afghanistan. Can anyone help?
Sound mirrors
